Civilian Corps Soldier's Aid Event

March 20 -21 - Firestone Boy Scout Camp

Due to the uniqueness of this event, the Civilian Corps is planning on devoting themselves to the needs of the soldiers.  The voice of duty beckons; camp dresses, aprons, serviceable shoes and practical hats are the recommended attire for the weekend. Some of the services we can offer are: mending, letter writing, reading, laundry, just to name a few.

Soldiers, there will be a homemade pot of stew for you who are tired of military fare.  We will also have a pot of boiling water on hand Saturday afternoon for you to use to clean your weapons. We will have fixings for coffee or tea. Since you men need a little diversion, how about a baseball game between our dashing soldiers and those boy scouts on Sunday? Or, how about one between the Blue and the Grey? Perhaps Saturday night, in return for our modest efforts, the musically gifted men will come to the civilian camp and entertain us all?  We ain't been to a Fandango since, I can't remember when.  Speaking on behalf of the devoted ladies and gents who desire to ease the discomforts of the army, please come to our camp and take advantage of our generous natures and tender hearts. We hope to see you at the Civilian camp, enjoying our hospitality. Contact "Mayor Hepsaba" (Linda) at [email protected] or myself, Mrs. Atkins (Wendy) at 661-261-3466

* A reminder to nurses, water & Pickle girls: Do not go out on the battlefield until "Recall" is sounded. Stand ready on the sidelines with your relief. Don't forget cavalry, someone not timid of horses should tend to them!
